Director – Tanner Jangula

Tanner Jangula

Tanner’s connection to the Japanese community goes back to his childhood, through long-time family friends, and hosting an international student from Japan.  Over the years he has developed a keen interest in Japanese cuisine, culture, and products.  In more recent years, he has been volunteering with JCAM, primarily at food and culinary events, including Bon Odori and Folklorama.  He has also taken some of the Japanese Language Program for Adults at JCAM.
Tanner graduated with a honours diploma and gold medal in Civil (Municipal) Engineering Technology from RRC Polytech, and honours certificate in Project Management from RRC Polytech.  He is a registrant of the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM), and a member of Project Management Institute (PMI).  Since the late-2000s, Tanner has been working in municipal government, traffic operations, policy consultation, legislation/bylaw implementation, contract administration, engineering design, and also serves on committees with mandates related to transportation.
As a member of the JCAM Board of Directors, Tanner hopes to apply his professional experience and technical skills, while continuing to volunteer with JCAM by serving in roles of progressive responsibility.
