This year we celebrated the Japanese Summer Festival at the Centre. It was an amazing day with so much to do and eat. Big thanks to the organizing committee lead by Caroline Yamashita and her committee members. Also a big thanks to the many volunteers who took time out of their busy schedule so the JCAM could host this event which showcases so much that Japanese culture has to offer. We also would like to thank the Consul General of Japan in Calgary Mr. Takehiko Wajima for their financial support to host this event. We had the privilege of to have attend our VIP guests Mayor Scott Gillingham and Vice Consul Yoshiko Okada. We were also the host city for the Minyo Workshop where we saw Japanese Odori dancers from across Canada come to Winnipeg to share each others Odori dances.
