President – Jim Suzuki
I was born in Winnipeg and graduated with an Engineering Degree from the University of Manitoba. My work career included engineering design, construction management in commercial and the agricultural field.
Following my retirement, I worked in property management. I became involved with volunteering for the community in the early 1980’s serving as a board member for the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Citizens’ Association (MJCCA) and serving as President for 1 term. I served on the committee which was responsible for purchasing the first building for the community and served on the first board of the Manitoba Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (MJCCC).
I became involved with the National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC), as Central Regional Coordinator for Japanese Canadian Redress, and also serving as National Administrator for the NAJC. I am currently a board member of the Manitoba Buddhist Temple and have served as Treasurer since 2016.
